The Rosie…

The Rosie is part of the 160 acres of Wepre Park, Connah’s Quay. The lake was created in the late 18th century for sport and domestic stock of fish for the Old Hall family kitchen.

Connah’s Quay Angling Club was established in 1967 taking over responsibility to rebuild this fine lake into a premium fishing venue. The lake is just over 1 acre in size and has depths ranging from 3 to 7 feet. The lake has 21 new BDAA (British Disabled Angling Association) standard fishing platforms including 5 double platforms.

The lake has 11 different species of fish stocked:

Common Carp, Mirror Carp (up to 15lb), Crucian Carp (2+lb), Roach, Rudd, Chub, Ide, Bream, Eels, Tench and Gudgeon.

Fishing is permitted by means of an annual membership or day ticket only.

Fishing is Dawn till Dusk and the water is regularly patrolled by Bailiffs, Night syndicates for night fishing are available to full members only, no day ticket holders are permitted to night fish.
